Ancestros: is a work in progress that initiates as a crucial response to the intrinsically connected relationships between our bodies, soil systems and rocks. From rock to soil and soil to rock, the eternal and continuous cycles of Earth connect mineral, bone, DNA, water and microbes to the human body. Ancestros explores the ancestral and cosmic formation of rocks and soil bodies in relationship to the human body. Our investigation celebrates and honours the relationships between human and molecular biomass that form this body of systems.The tension and poetic sensuous experience of this work awakens cellular memory and transports us into the universe of the microcosmos, where living organisms carry particles of soil attached to their forms. Ancestros speaks of the transcendence of our relationship and interdependence through visual poetry and storytelling.
